Festival International de Chants Chorals et Groupes Musicaux de Lomé- Togo

AJAS is a cultural association which came into the world in 1994 in LOMÉ TOGO. She allowed to young artists to express herself in a middle of which they are very fond to know the theatre, Ballet, Music, the choral singing ..

At first, the AJAS association searched its way in stage arts by staging, by playing theatric texts and by investing forum in the theatre. Later, it understood by seeing difficulties on the ground in the field of choral singing, uncharted way by the most part of the associations and festivals which it is important to draw ways to take out choral singing of the rut.

The artistic director d' Ehlomé comes from the choral world. Across numerous trips performed in Africa (Burkina Faso, Congo, Benin.) and in Europe (France, Belgium, Netherlands) and in America (United States), the idea of investing in choral singing settled with acuteness.

So, with partners and friends, the Festival of Choral Singing called "Ehlomé" which means " Through vocal chords " in mina, the most spoken language in Togo, in Benin and in Ghana draws its birth in 2005 at the official report when The songs of the Togolese directory leaving Africa are phagocytées and transformed into religious singing. How to get outside the choral singing of the Church and allow to all populations to enjoy beneficial effects of this art?

Ehlomé leaves the official report according to which, to sing imposes a research job which leads the body and voice to work in order to bring internal comfort, to liberate holds of the daily and to raise mind. Our first objective is therefore to bring beyond joy to listen and to sing physical and mental relaxation to the publics.

To bring the Choir to all publics (nondenominational, monks, pupils, students and to the prisoners) becomes the point of organ of plan Ehlomé

- 2007 : EHLOME First Edition
The international festival of chores and group musicals was introduced in 2007. This first edition was participated by choirs: Christ – Roi de Cocody(cote d’Ivoire), Emilie BIAYENDA de Dakar (Sénégal); EL -MORIDJA de Calavi (Benin); Avenir de L’Université de Lomé and Colombe de Lomé (Togo)without forgetting the artist NOELIE, a Togolese singer and the HOLY GHOST CHOIR for the ceremonies of the official lunching of the festival.

- 2009 : EHLOME Second Edition
The second edition regrouped from 09 till 14 May 2009 groups come from Ghana: Téma Youth Choir; of Burkina Fasso: Choir EBENEZER of Ouagadougou, Togo: The Maitrise de Lomé, the Choir The ANGELS of Afame and the Choir of the Association youth Echo du Ciel.

HLOME on 2011 will regroup:

• Choirs and Big Vocal Groups Chorus.
• Fanfares and Instrumental Groups
• Orchestras and Musical Groups
